Bangladesh Orthopaedic Society (BOS) is an association of orthopaedic and trauma surgeons in Bangladesh.

Orthopaedic Surgery in Bangladesh has a great historic beginning after the liberation war in 1971, aiming to give treatment to the war-injured freedom fighters. Being requested from Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, Dr. Ronald Joseph Garst – a missionary orthopaedic surgeon from United States of America, who had been working then for charity in Ludhiana, India – had come forward to help and give treatment to the war-injured freedom fighters. He started his mission with the help of other renowned orthopaedic surgeons from different countries of the world who came to this country and gave voluntary services for the treatment of the freedom-fighters and afterwards  helped for the development of orthopaedic surgery in Bangladesh and thereby contributed to lay the foundation of orthopaedic surgery in Bangladesh.

Bangladesh Orthopaedic Surgery (BOS) has started its journey form 24th August, 1978 aiming to establish cooperation and bondage among the orthopaedic surgeons of Bangladesh and to make links with other relevant associations in home and abroad for developing the subject to world-standard level by helping the orthopaedic surgeons to improvise their knowledge, skills and above all, serving the patients with utmost empathy and caring and helping them to restore back to their normal lives.
